Los Angeles/San Diego (August 27, 2013) “Back to Basics: The Music & Entertainment Summit 2014,” the ultimate networking, marketing and promotions event for entertainment industry, is coming to San Diego in the spring of 2014.
The three-day Summit, scheduled for May 1-4, 2014, brings together musical veterans, newcomers, business executives and entrepreneurs from all genres of the business. This year’s “Gospel Day” will be co-hosted by Leonard J. Thompson III, President and CEO of M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Records Inc., along with the Urban Network Digital & Amalgamation Magazine on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Four Points by Sheraton, 8110 Aero Drive, San Diego, California 92123.
“I have known Leonard J. Thompson III for about 20 years and have watched him build a great company and team,” states summit visionary and co-host, Arthur Mitchell, Urban Digital Network President. “I am very excited to have M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Records as a part of this project.”
Thompson has forged a place in the market of gospel music by successfully promoting and producing artists locally and internationally for over 20 years. What started as a grassroots label has bloomed into a nationally recognized label with a specific vision, “local origination, but global destination,” said Thompson. The label has grown from a small home-based business to one of Southern California’s premiere record labels.
His commitment to keeping that vision alive was demonstrated by the launch of a Jazz division in 2012. It features a sizzling line-up of artists who performed at the Market Creek Plaza Amphitheatre and showcased local residents alongside nationally acclaimed Jazz artists.
“The mission and vision of M.A.N.D.A.T.E. is to make a difference in the lives of the people they touch through music and ministry,” Thompson adds.
M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Records is recognized for successfully producing, managing and promoting The San Diego Praise Fest, San Diego County Fair Gospel Fest, Street Scene Gospel Slamm, The Fishhook, The G.R.I.D.I.R.O.N. Tour, The Genesis Tour, and The Sisters for Souls Tour, Rock the Block Tour and many other concert style events that were designed to mobilize to neighboring communities, cities and states.
Lin Woods, UDN Gospel Division Head shares the sentiments of its Mitchell, “I too am looking forward to working with Mr. Thompson and his team of saints,” she says. “I have been aware of the company for many years and now get the chance to work with them.”
All the resources and instructions for success will be shared by conference/seminar speakers and insiders for radio and mix show DJs, artist managers, entertainment attorneys, music publishers, performance rights organizations, music supervisors, trade groups, digital strategists, film and TV consultants, and more.
